About Polarkonsult

Polarkonsult AS was established in 1974 and is one of the leading consultant companies within ship design and naval architecture in Norway. We deliver ship designs and engineering for the global market.

Our staff counts 25 people and we are located in Harstad, Norway.

Our customers requirements have top priority and our philosophy is to be a reliable and competent supplier of modern ship technology for the future.

Our personnel covers a wide range of professions; from general naval architecture, structural design and engineering, machinery systems, accommodation systems, piping, etc. to numerical production material for steel and piping.

This wide range of skills, make us competent to follow the process of a newbuilding through all stages; design, detailed engineering, inspection and testing. This gives us detailed knowledge on all aspects of the design. Knowledge that our customers will benefit from.

For many years, traditional fishing vessels, national ferries and smaller cargo ships was the basis for our activity. Lately, other commercial vessels on the global market has become more and more important and completes our range of ship types. Now the entire globe is our marketplace.

During the last years, we have had the opportunity to follow a series of projects from initial design to completed vessel. Through customer relation with Owners and Yards, we have obtained detailed knowledge on all aspects of these vessels.

We have delivered documentation for a number of vessel built in Norway, Poland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, India, China, etc.
